When Purpose Meets the Runway: Lemon Essence 2026

There's a difference between a fashion show and a moment. On February 21st at The DoSeum in San Antonio, Lemon Essence 2026 was undeniably the latter.
The fourth annual Fundraising Fashion Show brought together designers, models, local businesses, community sponsors, and a whole lot of heart, and what unfolded on that runway was bigger than any single collection. It was proof of what happens when a community believes in something and shows up for it.
By the Numbers
The scale of this year's production made one thing clear: the community came through.
🍋 30+ person production team working behind the scenes to bring the vision to life
🍋 25+ local business sponsors contributing silent auction items
🍋 15+ original designs created exclusively by lead designer Nysha King
🍋 6+ monetary community donations supporting production costs
🍋 5 Community Sponsors investing in training, photoshoots, and model development
🍋 2 Restaurant Partners pouring flavor and funds into the weekend
🍋 1 incredible Title Sponsor, The DoSeum, whose space made it all possible
This was not a small operation. It was a full-scale production, and every number behind it represents real people who chose to invest in what TLC is building.
The Designer Behind the Collection: Nysha King
At the heart of Lemon Essence 2026 was a story years in the making.
Nysha King has been designing for this production for four years. But this year was different. This year, she stepped into the featured lead designer role and delivered a collection that stopped the room.
What makes Nysha's story particularly powerful is that she's a TLC alum. She didn't just come back to design. She came back as proof. Proof that the work The Lemonade Circle does has a long tail. The girls who walk through these programs don't just grow; they come back and pour into the next generation.
Her collection this year was rooted in sustainable fashion, creative intention, and storytelling through design. Every stitch carried meaning. And watching a woman who grew up within this organization return to the runway as a creative visionary is exactly the kind of full-circle moment that reminds you why this mission matters.
Nysha, thank you for trusting this community with your vision. Your journey is the mission in motion. 💛
The Community That Made It Happen
Lemon Essence doesn't run on a budget alone; it runs on people who believe in what we're doing.
To our Mocktail Hour vendors and silent auction partners: you showed up with your time, your products, your creativity, and your resources. From the self-care items handcrafted by local makers to the thoughtfully curated Concrete Bloom mocktails that welcomed guests into the evening, every detail you contributed elevated the experience for everyone in that room.
To our production team: the hours you put in behind the scenes before anyone even took a seat don't go unnoticed. The event flowed because you made it flow.
To our hosts, speakers, and runway talent: you didn't just fill a role, you brought energy, authenticity, and life to the night. The show was something to feel because of you.
Lemon Essence 2026 is what community looks like in action.
It's 30 people behind the scenes and 25 businesses showing up in the auction room. It's a designer who grew up in this organization returning to lead its most visible night. It's restaurant partners turning a weekend meal into a donation. It's models stepping onto a runway and finding something in themselves that's always been there.
Every stitch, every step, every sponsor; you helped us turn lemons into something powerful.
