Who Gets to Be a Queen? | Lemon & Lavender Brunch 2026

On January 31, 2026, at the San Antonio Garden Center, something shifted.

The Lemonade Circle hosted its first-ever Lemon & Lavender Brunch in partnership with DreamWeek San Antonio. We didn't just set a fundraising goal. We asked a question:

What does it look like to turn life's lemons into LEMONADE?

Five women had the answer.

Audra Taylor. Francine Prosser-Johnson. Kanetra Hights. Karen Coleman.

Margaret Wilson-Anaglia.

They didn't get here by accident. Each one earned the title: #makeLEMONADE Queen 2026.

A recognition reserved for women who lead without asking for permission, who pour into their communities without keeping score, and who turn obstacles into opportunities for the next generation.

We can't tell you everything that happened in that room. Some conversations are meant to stay between the people who had them. But we can tell you this: when South Texas Blood & Tissue, Port San Antonio, C.H. Guenther and Son, WestCare, and the San Antonio Chapter of Links Inc. purchased tables to honor these Queens, they weren't just buying seats. They were making a statement about who deserves to be celebrated and who gets a seat at the table.

We set a goal to raise $5,000.

The community raised almost $9,000. And our girls were in the room to see it happen.

Lemonade Circle members showed up, not just as volunteers, but as witnesses to what's possible when a community invests in young women. They saw the Queens being honored. They saw what it looks like when people believe you're worth celebrating. That matters more than the dollar amount.

We're building something here. A new kind of celebration. A new standard for who gets honored and why. If you missed this one, pay attention, because the Queens we recognize aren't waiting for approval. They're already making LEMONADE.

Thank you to DreamWeek San Antonio, Jordylolo Events, Nome's Catering and Event Planning, and the San Antonio Garden Center for creating the space. Thank you to Judge Peter Sakai and the H-E-B Butt Foundation for investing in this vision.

This is how we make LEMONADE: Leading Change. Empowering Voices. Transforming Lives. 🍋

Throughout February, we're continuing our #makeLEMONADE.
