Pour Into Her: How Our First Mommy and Me Event Reminded Us That Healing Is a Two-Way Street

There is something that happens when a mother and daughter sit in the same room with nowhere to be and nothing to perform. The walls come down. The real conversation starts.

That is exactly what we witnessed on March 29th at our first Pour Into Her event, hosted at The Ivy, a beautiful townhouse space right here in San Antonio. It was intimate, intentional, and one of the most meaningful afternoons The Lemonade Circle has had the privilege of creating.

The Pour Into Her series was built around a simple but powerful idea. So many of our girls and the women in their lives are constantly giving, holding space, showing up, carrying things quietly. This series is dedicated to creating experiences for the people who pour into others and who deserve to be poured into themselves. Mothers and daughters. Mentors and mentees. The women who hold it all together.

We partnered with Breathe and Rise Collective Inc. to bring a sound bath and guided breathing experience to the afternoon, and what unfolded was something we will not forget anytime soon. Before any of that, though, attendees were invited to connect, create, and paint together. The room buzzed with conversation, color, and laughter as moms and daughters worked side by side.

Then came the conversations. We gave everyone time to sit with words that show up in their lives, words like "overwhelming" and "I can't." Moms and daughters paired off for twenty-minute conversations where they got to talk about what feels like too much, what they carry alone, and what they wish the other person knew. The level of honesty in that room was something else.

After that came the breathing exercises, and then the sound bath. By the time the bowls started singing, the room had already shifted. People were softer. More present. More connected to the person sitting next to them. Our Program Director, Tyla Oliver, made sure the space was stunning. She decorated the vases by hand, and the detail and care she put into every piece showed.

Attendees enjoyed cake, snacks, and, of course, lemonade, because it would not be a Lemonade Circle event without it. And every mom and every daughter left with a yellow flower. When you pour into something, it does not just survive. It heals. It grows. That flower is a reminder of what becomes possible when we choose to show up for each other.

This was only the first Pour Into Her event, and we are already looking forward to what comes next. Thank you to Breathe and Rise Collective Inc. for partnering with us, to The Ivy for hosting us, and to every mother and daughter who showed up and opened up.

You reminded us why this work matters. 🍋💜
