Science. Technology. Engineering. Math. And a whole lot of girl power.
On July 19th, our GENES-SiS scholars took their STEM skills to the next level at Texas A&M University-San Antonio with HydroSpark.

A hands-on experience exploring hydroelectric energy, sustainability, and the science behind powering our future.
GENES-SiS stands for Girls Engaged in Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Space Innovation, Science in the Summer. This 11-week summer experience is designed to inspire and empower young Black girls in STEM through hands-on learning, professional development, and a supportive community environment.

At HydroSpark, our girls didn't just learn about renewable energy; they built it, tested it, and saw the direct impact of their work. They asked big questions, solved real problems, and walked away with a deeper understanding of how science shapes the world around them.
For many of our girls, GENES-SiS is their first real exposure to STEM fields. It's where they meet scientists, engineers, and innovators who look like them. It's where they realize that they belong in labs, in research, and in careers that will change the world.

We're so proud of our GENES-SiS scholars for showing up with curiosity, confidence, and creativity.
The future of STEM is bright, and it's Black girl magic all the way.
